The investigation is ongoing and will be sent to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office for charges, police said. Domestic violence situations are most dangerous when there’s a gun present,” Dingell, D-Ann Arbor, said Thursday in a statement. “We are all heartbroken for the victims of this violence and supporting their full recovery, and I thank our police and EMS for their prompt response to this situation. Debbie Dingell, who was briefed on the shooting scene because Saline is in her congressional district, described the shooting as an act of domestic violence. He was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, a resident of Lenawee County, was arrested after a car chase that resulted in the suspect crashing into another vehicle, hitting a 38-year-old Jackson County woman, near South Ann Arbor Street and Willis Road on the south side of Saline, Radzik said. Radzik said the assisted living center was hosting a car show in its parking lot, prompting visitors to park across the street in the parking lot of the vacant UAW union hall, which was sold earlier this week. Investigators are unsure if the 67-year-old Saline man was a companion of the woman, Radzik said. The suspect is an ex-boyfriend of the woman. ![]() "The victim was walking to her car, I believe for a smoke break, and she was walking across the street with another male acquaintance, the suspect was waiting and just started opening fire," Saline police Chief Marlene Radzik told reporters. ![]()
